Pecan Pie

Prepare and roll out pastry. Line a 9in-pie plate and trim pastry to ½in beyond edge of pie plate. Flute edges; do not prick pastry.
In a mixing bowl beat eggs slightly with a fork or a beater. Add sugar and salt, stirring until dissolved. Stir in dark corn syrup and melted butter (or margarine); mix well. Stir in the pecan halves. Place pie shell on oven rack and pour filling into the pastry-lined pie plate. To prevent overbrowning, cover edge of pie with foil.
Bake at 350F for 25 minutes. Cool thoroughly on rack before serving. Serve with cream or vanilla ice cream.
